Is Hey Palu dog friendly?
Absolutely, we love dogs (well-behaved), just let us know when you are booking that you are bringing your four-legged pal so as we have certain areas in the bar that are better suited for them. But we operate a ‘paws on the floor’ policy!
What’s the best way to make a reservation?
You can book directly on our reservations page for up to 4 people. If your preferred time isn’t showing, that means that time slot is already full. 9:30pm is our last reservation spot.
Can I reserve a specific table?
Please note that, as we are a small bar with limited tables, they are generally reserved for groups of three or more. Your reservation may therefore be seated at the bar, but our stools are very comfortable and a great spot to enjoy the atmosphere and chat with the team.
Can we extend our booking past an hour and a half?
We generally don't accept extended bookings as per our reservation policy, because we are a small bar with limited space, and we want to let as many people as possible to be able to enjoy Hey Palu’s cocktails.
What’s the largest size booking you take?
Hey Palu is quite a wee bar so, Sunday to Thursday our largest size booking is for 8 people, on a Friday & Saturday our largest size booking is for 6 people.

Do you accept walk-ins?
We always keep some bar space back for walk-ins so it’s always worth popping your head in & the team will try their best to find you a spot.
Do you offer private hire?
Due to the size of the bar this isn’t something we offer.
Do you offer non-alcoholic cocktails?
We have a selection of non-alcoholic cocktails, wine & beer, along with a selection of soft drinks / sodas.
Do you serve food?
We offer a small selection or nibbles & Italian meats & cheeses. Our menu changes frequently as our produce comes directly from Italy, you can find a sample menu here
Can children come to Hey Palu?
Children are permitted up until 8pm in our Martini space as they must be sat at a table. Please let us know when booking so we can allocate the correct space.
What is Amaro?
Amaro is a bittersweet Italian liqueur traditionally enjoyed after a meal. Made by infusing herbs, roots, spices, flowers and citrus peels, every amaro has its own unique flavour profile, ranging from light and citrusy to rich, herbal and intensely bitter. Like wine, regionality plays an important role, with different parts of Italy producing their own distinctive styles and flavours.
What does Palu mean?
Palu is the nickname of one of the owners. Short for Palumbo meaning pigeon in Italian, next time you are in try & spot the couple of pigeons we have dotted about the bar.
